Roberto Cavalli Junior and Newborn Fall-Winter 2013-14 Collection
Roberto Cavalli Junior and Newborn: Pitti Immagine Bimbo 76 The 76th edition of Pitti Immagine Bimbo has just started in Florence and Roberto Cavalli will be part of this unique event for children with its Junior and Newborn Fall/Winter 2013-14 collections. Here are some photos!
Roberto Cavalli takes us on a leafy conservatory, where lush flowers are mixed with small jaguar touches, creating a universe of prints and serigraphs. Dresses in chiffon pleated and fluffy tulle skirts, but also leather jackets embellished with macro-stones applied for little princesses of gritty soul. The palette incorporates the colors of a winter bouquet ranging from amaranth, lilac, pink, yellow and green leaf. Black, through the issue and became the leitmotif brightened with glitter touches and micro-rhinestones, shining like drops of dew.
Surreal and romantic atmospheres. A delicate print resumes the patterns which are characteristic of precious porcelain Limoges, printed all over with clean lines of clothing or t-shirt in jersey. New and surprising nice pair of zebras peeping on the clothes, giving them a playful and cheeky air. Shades of pink dominate, from the most delicious of the raspberry to the most subtle of the powder, broken by gold touches of ribbons and details, and the delicacy of white milk.
The cool shades of topaz and emerald green, delicately intertwine with small flowers of blue coral, warmed by gold touches, creating a rich print all over. The light of the crystals illuminates prints, embellishes the garments of light ruffles, enlightens jeans and enriches embroideries. Rarefied and ice atmospheres for the small capsule that features a magnificent royal tiger with eyes of color of ice, silk-screened on silk dresses and t-shirt in jersey.
ROBERTO CAVALLI BOY - ENGLISH COUNTY
For autumn/winter 2013/2014 dedicated to the boys, Roberto Cavalli offers a mix and a match of fabrics reminiscent of the world of the English countryside. Tartan and twill motifs play, alternating in patchwork patterns on jackets and vests. A succession of overlays for the palette of colors: brown, vibrant cobalt blue and orange broken by touches of ocher yellow, used both as a cutting color as plain. Important attention to details: small patches and trims are made of soft leather, as well as the logo reapplied on garments. Finally Scottish flavor for the iconic leather jacket made of vintage leather and treated with special washes.
For the more pungent cold tailoring fabrics leave room for more technical and functional materials such as resin nylon, quilted or combined with the sweatshirt, in a mix of materials that forms the leitmotif of this collection. The chosen shades are those of white, cold gray and blue steel with touches of bright green contrast in details. In this world we find wrapping jackets, pants highly functional fabric with strategic pockets or soft and clean lines but comfortable white and gray twill fabric.
In Roberto Cavalli Junior’s soul it is inevitable the pure and chameleon tuxedo, this time made of blue night velvet with jaguar spots printed tone on tone, to be worn with a shirt with plastron alive with flock prints, and with the very special two-tones stone washed denims with rubber logo. A special capsule made up of elegant and sophisticated suits of sartorial taste, but also of leather garments of very strong taste, is the tribute that the brand has decided to dedicate to the Made in Italy and to the values it expresses, synonymous with craftsmanship, high quality and attention to details.
ROBERTO CAVALLI NEWBORN
The jaguar, blended with a delicate frame of winter flowers or combined with the delicacy of pink, of cream or gold, is confirmed as the absolute protagonist of the proposals Roberto Cavalli Newborn for the youngest babies. Soft and very warm overalls, lovely knitted dresses, bright or stone washed denims and delicious sweatshirts, to be worn with a soft baby pink fur. There are plenty of items designed for the most important occasions. A rose seems to blossom over a colored powder little dress, while large and voluminous dresses are enhanced further through applications of macro-rhinestones for a sparkling effect. Precious decorated jewel in shades of turquoise and emerald, all-over print on a delicate pale blue background, decorate dresses, t-shirts and blouses in chiffon.
For boys the collection includes elegant and luxurious clothes to play with bold and sophisticated prints with more casual and trendy looking. The little tuxedo, takes on an air of ironic and funny when combined with the printed shirt or printed jaguar bow tie. Surprising mixes and matches for items that recall the colors of the English countryside: light blue, blue and gray enlivened by touches of ocher yellow. The materials overlap as for the t-shirt with vest built for shorts and outfits for the sweatshirt. Wide also in fabrics such as the herringbone salt and pepper to the super trendy leather jacket or comfortable knitted suits, to be worn with all hair and ears hat. Roberto Cavalli Newborn nursery world is available in shades of delicate candy pink for the newborn and light blue for the infant: covers, sleeping bags and bibs are offered in both plain colors and enriched with small jaguar details tone on tone. The accessories for mom are very important: the mommy bag, the soother holder, the baby bottle holder, and the changing mat are elegant in the jaguar flower variant or more glamorous in the black nylon version with jacquard logo Roberto Cavalli.

Things That Creep Us Out from the New Issue of Vogue Enfants
by Steff Yotka
On the whole, French Vogue supplement Vogue Enfants is a gem for parents and children alike. It features cute clothes and accessories for kids (some that I wish were made for adults!) and this issue has a lovely interiors section that highlights four of the most perfectly precious designs for kids’ bedrooms (think Margot’s room in The Royal Tenenbaums).
Among the images in question are a little girl doing her best impression of a moody Freja in the Beauté section (another good question: a beauty section for toddlers? why?), and a tween model posing provocatively with her mouth agape. Maybe we don’t get it because of our Puritan mentality (Vogue Enfants is French after all but then again TLC puts out a popular show called Toddlers and Tiaras), or maybe it’s that seeing children modeling like they’re adults–adults who are supposed to be sexy–is just plain unsettling. The residual bad taste in our mouths may be leftover from the Vogue Paris December 2010 playfully perverse editorial featuring little girls in big-girl clothing and heaps of makeup.
What do you think, are these ads and editorials cute or creepy?
